Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in preparing financial reports and executive summaries to track the performance of value-based programs.
  • Reviews and enhances existing reports, procedures, and systems to optimize reporting processes and ensure accuracy.
  • Analyzes total medical expenses (TME), utilization trends, and risk adjustment data to help identify areas for improvement.
  • Supports the development of financial projections, financial modeling, gainsharing calculations, and funds flow models under guidance.
  • Provides data analysis as needed for various committees.
  • Works with Data Scientists and other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial/utilization reporting, leveraging data from EMR systems, claims data, and other sources.
  • Provides the data teams with the specifications for new metrics and reporting needs.
  • Ensures all work is fully documented and project specifications are created following the analytics team standards.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major or concentration in Health Care Administration, Math, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of directly relevant work experience in healthcare finance or analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • A working knowledge of computer-aided data analysis (e.g., financial/forecasting/budgeting techniques).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with hospital/healthcare delivery systems, financial forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Experience working in reimbursement, value-based programs or managed care.
  • Experience working with healthcare data, such as EMR and claims data.
  • SPSS, Tableau or other visualization software experience.
