Join our mission-driven team as a Full-time Claims Administrative Assistant at the Santa Barbara Jail

What You'll Do:

  • Check daily for newly assigned clients and complete assessments within 3 business days of Effectuate pre-release Medi-Cal enrollment processes.
  • Work with Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services (DSS) to identify clients in custody eligible for Medi-Cal and provide application forms and assist individuals as they complete the application process
  • Transmit the completed Medi-Cal application to DSS
  • Maintain and protect the integrity of client health information provided and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
  • Organize and maintain up-to-date and orderly assigned office files, and continually record and update information.
  • Computerize Agency information and complete reports as needed or directed.
  • Compile quarterly and annual statistics.
  • Assist Manager in monitoring department information and other assigned weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency's programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's Degree plus one year of Administrative experience. Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one-year basis.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Windows, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to go to Santa Maria and Santa Barbara locations.

Schedule: Mon-Thurs 8am-6pm

Hourly Rate: $23.00
