Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - ENT/Otolaryngology Location: Jackson, MI Department: ENT/Otolaryngology Reports To: Supervising ENT/Otolaryngology Physician Inpatient/Outpatient: 10% inpatient, 90% outpatient Case Load: 70% adult, 30% pediatrics Position Overview: Henry Ford Health Jackson is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our ENT team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care for patients with a variety of ear, nose, and throat conditions, including preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative management. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. ENT experience is preferred but not required. 3-5 years' experience, as an APP, preferred. Active DEA. Procedures - Ear wax removal, post operative education and management, works collaboratively with audiology providers for hearing assessments. Schedule - Flexible. 4, 10-hour shifts or 5, 8-hour shifts. Saturday morning clinics are sometimes offered. Weekend requirement - Variable. Call requirement - No OR Time - Variable. Mostly clinic. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in any of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. Experience * 3-5 years' experience preferred as APP. * ENT specialty specific experience, preferred. * Proficiency in surgical assisting techniques and perioperative patient management * EPIC Experience, preferred. Skills * Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. * Commitment to patient-centered are and continuous professional development.
