Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth. Summary: Power Solutions International participates in E-Verify. This role is 100% onsite reporting to our office in Darien, WI. We are currently not offering Sponsorship or Relocation Assistance for this role.
Under the direction of the Group Leader, the Core Team Leader is responsible for assisting with daily activities, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing System implementation, specifically Built-In-Quality, People Involvement, Standardization, Short Lead Time, and Continuous Improvement. Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with the identification and resolution of ergonomic issues
- Conduct ergonomic assessments with assistance from Industrial Engineering. Promotes a safe working environment
- Responsible for the implementation of change, working closely with Engineering Change Coordinators, Plant Readiness Coordinators to ensure BOM accuracy, and a thorough implementation of Plant Process Change
- Create, develop and revise standardized work documentation in collaboration with Industrial Engineering
- Work with Team Leaders implementing of standardized work, document change control, the Job Instruction Training (JIT) process, and Operator certification process (Flex Chart)
- Collaborate with Plant Readiness Coordinators, Coordinate Scouts, Production Trial Runs (PTR), Pilot Builds, and other special build events
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers on the development of Product Quality Standards (PQS). Provide Voice of the Operator input for Product Launch activities to improve DFM Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Facilitate and/or participate in Kaizen Problem Solving Activities, and other team-based problem solving such as Blue Card problem solving, 8D, CRM
- Take a leadership role in containment activities and implementation of Initial Corrective Action (ICA) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA)
- Lead daily Team Based problem solving at the shop floor level with a Built-In-Quality focus at the Level 4/5 Business Plan Deployment (BPD) Cube
- Investigate internal and external quality issues, utilizing disciplined data driven systems and processes at the shop floor level
- Support other Core Team Leaders, Group Leaders and Team Leaders to identify training needs and opportunities
- Work closely with the Lean Coordinator to implement continuous improvement and Lean principles.
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to identify & document any project challenges and opportunities - As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds
- Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly
- All other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Engineering discipline preferred, High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements)
- Ability to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams into work required
- Demonstrated success in one or more of the following Lean Manufacturing applications and practices: Kaizen, Business Plan Deployment, Standardized Work Documentation
- Proven experience and/or demonstrated aptitude to effectively use or train others to use one or more of the following tools supporting assembly at PSI: Air tools, Electric tools, or Hydraulic tools
- Strong Computer skills, including Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
