Position Summary

The UNM Division of Information Technologies seeks candidates for a Technical Analyst 2 position. The successful candidate will join a high caliber team of professionals in the Information Technologies department in the Operations Team.

The Technical Analyst 2 position will lead projects to upgrade enterprise applications (on-premises and cloud-based) to ensure the application itself and the underlying infrastructure is up-to-date, secure, and delivering the most value to our end users. The Operational support consists of monitoring of incoming requests and escalated support for process & workflow migration, and production issues.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong communication, technical, and organizational skills; excellent problem-solving skills; along with solid customer support skills to support a diverse customer base.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate application upgrades and the establishment of required infrastructure in a virtualized environment for large, complex, ERP systems
  • Coordinate the execution of business cycle events
  • Perform Day-to-Day Operational Activities
  • Lead the workflow process migration for our ERP system
  • Perform as the Technical Lead for internal Application's projects to improve our systems, processes, and practices
  • Provide escalated support to IT Applications incidents
  • Work closely with the multiple offices across campuses to assist with Applications upgrades
  • Document all work in our knowledge base leveraging different formats such as technical writing, diagrams, charts, and instructions to best communicate source material
  • Advocate for continual improvement of the division by offering recommendations on processes and existing systems
  • Analyzes and solves problems of moderately advanced complexity on computer applications and systems for students, faculty, and staff for departments and/or the university community
  • Provides a wide range of in-depth technical assistance to departmental users and/or support staff
  • Provide after-hours support based on the On-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong communication, team, customer relations, and organizational skills
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading applications while documenting the process, so it is easily repeatable in the future
  • Experience working closely with customers to understand their needs and translating those needs into technical solutions
  • Experience leveraging the knowledge of IT infrastructure and security to improve application delivery and performance
  • Experience solving problems with creative solutions
  • Experience using basic commands in the Unix shell
  • Experience working in Cloud/on-premises hosted environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast, paced structured environment
  • Experience working with vendors to resolve issues and gather system requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to document applications promptly and contribute to knowledge bases
  • Ability to self-manage time when assigned multiple incidents/SRs
