WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) ...

Newport Mental Health, a leading community mental health organization committed to transforming lives and fostering well-being, is seeking a talented and dedicated Grants Intern to join our team. As a Grants Intern, you will support the team with data collection for the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) federal grant and will assist in the creation and implementation of services to ensure an approach to health care that emphasizes recovery, wellness, trauma-informed care and physical-behavioral health integration.

Essential Duties:

  • Outreach to new clients to schedule time to complete baseline NOMS (National Outcomes Measurement Systems) interviews and schedule reassessment interviews
  • Conduct baseline and reassessment interviews
  • Coordinate with Nurses, Case Managers and Program Coordinators to schedule and complete interviews
  • Update data tracking sheets as needed
  • Enter NOMS data into the SAMHSA/SPARS website
  • Pull client health information from the electronic health record when necessary/available
  • Support with grant related fidelity monitoring
  • Other related grant support

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU...

  • Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and the entire Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using an electronic health record and working in the mental health field is preferred.
