Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Manager to lead the Resource Configuration (track 3) and Integration/Testing (track 4) tracks for the Extended Day Ahead Market (EDAM) implementation at PGE. This role is critical to ensuring that all grid and market resources are accurately configured, integrated into CAISO's systems, and thoroughly tested for seamless EDAM operations.

This role manages both system integration and business readiness, including oversight of business testing of vendor solutions and development of operational procedures and business processes to support sustained EDAM performance. The position reports into Extended Day Ahead Market project team and serves as a cross-functional connector across multiple internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Staff

  • Leads a team of 8 FTEs, including the Track 3 Lead (Resource Configuration) and Track 4 Lead (Integration & Testing), along with six additional team members.

  • Ensures alignment across teams executing resource configuration, integration testing, and business process design.

  • Provides technical and strategic oversight while fostering accountability and professional development.

Business Testing & Process Readiness

  • Oversees business testing of vendor solutions (OATI webEDAM and PCI EDAM modules) to ensure market functionality.

  • Leads development and validation of business processes and operational procedures to support EDAM scheduling, bidding, and self-scheduling.

  • Ensures all EDAM-related operations are audit-ready and built to scale.

Strategy & Coordination

  • Develops and executes strategic plans for Tracks 3 and 4, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Facilitates coordination across EDAM project leadership, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners to manage interdependencies and shared deliverables.

Risk & Performance Management

  • Proactively identifies and mitigates risks across configuration, integration, testing, and business readiness.

  • Tracks and reports on key project milestones and deliverables.

  • Maintains accountability to EDAM program timelines and performance standards.

Compliance & Technical Oversight

  • Ensures all resource and market integration activities meet CAISO and WECC standards.

  • Oversees adherence to FERC, NERC, and PGE's internal governance requirements.

Education / Experience / Certifications

Education

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in grid operations, generation, transmission systems, or energy market operations.

  • Strong understanding of CAISO market structure, including Scheduling Coordinator (SC) responsibilities.

  • Experience managing complex integration projects with external vendors (e.g., OATI, PCI) strongly preferred.

Compensation Range:

$125,790.00 - $233,610.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
