Min T/E Requirements
Master's Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Development or related field from and accredited college or university with at least two years of experience working with programs designed to support the academic success of undergraduate students required. This position requires strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and the ability to collaborate and develop strong, positive working relationships with others. Demonstrated flexibility and proven interpersonal skills are essential. Applicant must be technologically sound and have supervisory experience.

Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
To increase retention, progression, completion, and time-to-degree for UNCP transfer students. Transfer Transition & Engagement is a new unit under the University College that focuses on supporting the integration of transfer students into the UNCP community.
Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Transfer Transition & Engagement, the Transfer Success Coordinator will focus on supporting the transition and integration of transfer students into the UNCP community.
Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Transfer Transition & Engagement, the Transfer Success Coordinator will focus on supporting the transition and integration of transfer students into the UNCP community.

The Transfer Success Coordinator will-

Develop and execute a transfer student communication plan by collaborating each semester with campus stakeholders, to highlight opportunities for transfer and adult students.
Coordinate programs and services to enhance transfer student success with a focus on initiatives related to retention, graduation, and career development.
Coordinate academic advising services for students participating in a transfer pathway program to select North Carolina Community Colleges. Counsel students on university programs, specifically in the areas of degree requirements, graduation requirements, admissions, and financial aid.
Monitor academic performance of transfer students; organize and maintain student data including academic progress towards graduation.
Advise an assigned caseload of transfer students.
Co-advise UNCP's chapter of Tau Sigma National Honor Society for transfer students.
Support Undergraduate Admissions with various recruitment events off-campus at NC Community Colleges and on-campus for prospective transfer students and families, as needed.
Teach University Studies ( UNV) each semester, as needed.

Management Preference
Experience in programs relating to student success, retention, academic advising, or admissions. Experience with or demonstrated understanding of the specific developmental needs of adult and transfer students. The position will have extensive contact with students, faculty, program heads, chairs, and deans and will require exemplary interpersonal skills as well as good judgment and discretion.
