This position is eligible for an up to $3000 sign-on bonus!

The Family Resource Center located in Roxbury is seeking a Family Support Worker (FSW). The FSW provides information and educational resources to family members in addition to providing referrals to community resources. The FSW develops the FRC calendar and hosts parent and Youth Support groups. They are responsible for recruiting and providing support to volunteers who shall lead specialized support groups as needed and will be responsible for helping coordinate group activities, facilitating and advertising groups.

How You'll Be Making a Difference



  • Assists families in accessing support and resources in their community to meet child and family needs.
  • Facilitate and advertise family support groups.
  • Communicates with community partners to ensure families are well connected to resources.
  • Completes outreach and marketing efforts to build awareness of the program.
  • May assist in transporting families to FRC or to other community locations.
  • Documents activities provided daily in medical record.
  • May assist in transporting families to FRC or to other community locations.
  • Perform program specific duties and functions.
  • May participate in agency committees.
  • Provide on-call coverage and crisis intervention as needed.
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license, clear driving record, and personal vehicle available for use during work hours.


Qualifications



  • Associates degree in social work, mental health or related discipline.
  • May or may not have program specific experience.
  • Excellent cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Language capacity such as Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred.
