Functions as a Developmental Specialist (DS) in the Nisonger Center's Early Childhood Program providing early intervention services to children aged 6 weeks-36 months of age who have a developmental delay or medical diagnosis that puts them at risk for developing a delay; applies evidence-based practices to work with child's caregivers to increase the child's opportunities for full participation in daily routines across a range of natural environments with the goal of enhancing and promoting the child's healthy development across area including physical cognitive communication social-emotional and self-help; communicates with family members and other caregivers to collaboratively set goals work towards achieving those goals and monitor progress; collaborates with a team of early intervention providers including speech-language pathologists physical therapists and occupational therapists to coordinate and individualize services for each child served; complies with federal and state standards for Part C early intervention services including ensuring that minimum service requirements are met in timely fashion; records and retains appropriate documentation related to the childs Individualized Family Service Plan; provides ongoing assessment to guide intervention goals and track child progress using the Assessment Evaluation and Programming System, Routines-Based Interview, and other relevant assessment tools as necessary; provides services within a classroom-based environment as needed;participates with the transition from Part C to Part B services as necessary for children who age out of the Part C system; assists with training of new developmental staff including inclusion staff in Nisonger's early childhood program; participates in ongoing professional development and staff meetings.This position will work flexible hours Monday-Friday 7:00am-7:00pm depending on needs of the family or care providers for the children served.Must have personal transportation and a valid drivers license for travel within Franklin County.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in special education or related field

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Developmental or Special Education or Child Development or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education amp; experience; required Developmental Specialist license; required experience working with young children with disabilities; required current first aid communicable disease infant/child CPR and child abuse recognition certification and/or training within 120 days of employment required. Requires successful completion and is subject to a Bureau of Criminal Investigation check qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
