Admission Counselor Student Internship

Description

The key principle of an Admissions Counselor is to support the mission of Lipscomb University, which is to integrate Christian faith and practice with academic excellence. The Admissions Counselor student intern will support the office of admissions in this goal. This position is only open to current Admission Student Ambassadors graduating in May 2026. May be federal work study eligible.

Responsibilities include:



  • Student Outreach and Engagement:

    • Connect with prospective students via email, text, and phone calls to provide information about the university's programs, admission requirements, and campus life.
    • Conduct in-person information sessions alongside Admissions Counselor, ensuring a positive and informative experience for visitors.
    • Attend college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events to promote the university.


  • Application Support:

    • Assist students in navigating the application process, answering queries related to application requirements, deadlines, and necessary documentation.
    • Review and evaluate incoming applications, providing feedback and guidance to applicants as needed.
    • Collaborate with other admissions team members to ensure a smooth and efficient application review process.


  • Admission Events:

    • Assist in the operations of admissions events, such as Lipscomb Fridays and Admitted Student Events.


  • Data Management:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and application materials using our CRM system, Slate.
    • Assist with routine data entry and clean-up tasks in Slate




Applicants will also have additional responsibilities within the Office of Admission. This will include data management, budget management, scholarship programming, etc.

Qualifications:



  • Must be a current Lipscomb University Admission Student Ambassador set to graduate in May 2026.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Enthusiasm for working with prospective students and families.
