Weekly Hours: 40

Shift: 1st

Status: Full Time

Job Summary

Under the direction of the vascular program manager, this position is responsible for assisting with supervision of daily workflow/operation in the non-invasive vascular department in accordance with the accepted hospital policies/procedures and accreditation standards through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). This position is designed for an individual who has advanced-level knowledge of vascular exams, performs quality vascular exams with efficiency, experience with training or precepting, has knowledge of managing department workflow/operation, and ability to adapt to change effectively.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

1. Works closely with vascular program manager with daily staff management and operational activities in the non-invasive vascular department.

2. Demonstrates clinical proficiency and critical thinking skills in performance of noninvasive vascular ultrasound exams.

3. Manages daily workflow with efficiency.

4. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to change effectively, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to achieve operational, patient experience and quality improvement goals.

5. Participates in development and training of staff.

6. Participates in annual evaluation, competency validation, safety training and OSHA requirements.

7. Serves as a clinical leader for vascular ultrasound school programs. Develops and trains students during clinical rotation or delegates role as needed.

8. Delegates tasks to team members as needed.

9. Participates in the IAC accreditation process and on-going quality improvement process and initiatives as needed.

10. Performs other duties as assigned by the vascular program manager.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) is required.

  • CPR certification required. An associate degree in related field and accredited college is required.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college is preferred.
