Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
UNC Greensboro supports students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary ( CTP) program while enrolled in Integrative Community Studies, a four-year certificate that emphasizes self-determination, life planning, and career development. Students completing requirements for graduation receive a certificate in Integrative Community Studies, awarded by the Office of the Provost at UNCG.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director for Transition oversees services provided to students enrolled in the ICS Program by working directly with students and their person-centered plans. This position will also oversee instructors, volunteers, interns, and graduate students who provide instruction and support for students (generally in the 1st and 2nd-years) of the Integrative Community Studies ( ICS) Certificate Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in Human Services related field or a bachelors with 3 years experience. Two years experience in postsecondary education.

  • Experience working with individuals with Intellectual disabilities
  • Instructional experience
  • Curriculum writing experience
  • Experience or working knowledge of Person-Centered-Planning principles/processes
