The Senior Manager, Property Management Accounting assists with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Department. The position interacts with all levels of the organization to address key performance improvement opportunities specifically in the areas of accounting and financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.
Partner closely with accounting and non-accounting department managers/directors to evaluate existing business processes and provide recommendations for improvements Work closely with reporting team to perform thorough understanding of financial statements and analysis Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, including oversight of the monthly close calendar Assist with the annual audit process including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested documents, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations Contribute to implementation of system and process improvements Enforce proper internal controls Prepare analytical financial reports to assist with month-end budget-to-actual and variance analysis Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the department. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards. Manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity. Work with executive/senior management on special projects. Provide oversight and training to the accounting team, ensuring clear management of daily tasks and long-term development of staff. Focus efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization's standards Demonstrate and support the organization's ethics and values Perform back-up duties as necessary
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA required 10 years of real estate accounting experience Thorough knowledge of accounting principles Leadership in managerial roles within a top-tier Public Accounting firm or in a dynamic real estate management or development/construction. Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in other Microsoft Office programs
