Summary
Located in Chicago and reporting to the DEI Director who sits in Chicago, the Diversity Coordinator will provide support in implementing and administering the firm's overall diversity, equity and inclusion vision and initiatives. The Diversity Coordinator will also interact with the firm's lawyers, including, but not limited to, women, minority/ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, and disabled lawyers ("Lawyers"), firm leadership, as well as the firm's Marketing, Strategic Planning, Human Resources, Event Planning, Technology, Creative, Wellness, Learning & Development, and Legal Recruiting Departments ("Strategic Partners") to accomplish the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support for new and ongoing diversity, equity and inclusion programs and initiatives, as well as for other projects as assigned
- Collaborate with Strategic Partners to efficiently research, plan, organize and execute diversity, equity and inclusion programming and projects to support the development of Lawyers
- Provide administrative support and track the firm's global sponsorships of national and local lawyer affinity organizations to help the DEI Director and Diversity Manager measure the impact of such sponsorships on Lawyers and the firm
- Create surveys, as requested, and track feedback from Lawyers who attend various national and local lawyer affinity organization conferences or diversity, equity, and inclusion programming
- Support the DEI Director and Diversity Manager in fostering collaboration with strategic partners to strengthen the firm's DEI-focused engagement with clients
- Work with Strategic Partners to design invitations for programs and events hosted by the DEI Team, various DEI committees, and/or Sidley affinity groups
- Work with the Diversity Manager to make sure registrations and ads for sponsored national and local lawyer affinity organization conferences are submitted on time
- Attend designated internal and external DEI-related events, coordinate registration, name tags, contact sheets, materials and other logistics
- Schedule and attend meetings, and take notes as requested to distribute to other members of the DEI team
- Create initial drafts of slides for reports and presentations for meetings and as requested by DEI-related committees and assist with collecting data and analyzing metrics for various DEI-related programs and initiatives
- Collaborate with DEI team members across all offices, as needed
- Ability to travel and work overtime, as needed

- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or experience working in a professional environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
