The Windows Shell team is looking for a collaborative and customer-obsessed Software Engineer to join us on our journey of driving innovation in the most iconic surfaces in Windows such as Start Menu and Taskbar.As a Software Engineer on the Windows Shell team, you will partner closely with Product Management, Data Science, Design, and Marketing teams to come up with new feature ideas that solve real customer problems. You will have the opportunity to build full stack, end-user-facing features along with platform components that drive those scenarios. You will innovate in new technologies utilizing the power of AI, build delightful experiences, and shape the process and culture of Windows to ship value to customers faster. ResponsibilitiesWorks with appropriate stakeholders across disciplines to determine user requirements for key Windows Shell surfaces.Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents with little oversight.Creates and implements full stack, end-user-facing features for the Windows Shell, reusing code as applicable.Makes data-driven decisions through experimentation to move key business metrics.Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
