Job Objective:
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and repair work in electrical repairs and in maintaining electrical elements of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, lighting, generators, control and safety systems, communication equipment and production machines and equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs skilled work installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, including engines, motors, lighting, generators, control and safety systems, communication equipment, and production machines and equipment.
  • Performs skilled work in placing and removing electrical components as well as repairing wires, cable conduit, and various electrical components.
  • Installs electrical conduit, cable, and vaults.
  • Inspects, tests, calibrates, and adjusts various controls or meters used in the electrical system.
  • Maintains electrical wiring systems, as required per NEC.
  • Maintains safety practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots electrical devices in operation and makes necessary repairs/modifications.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Performs electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs.
  • Reads and understands electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Estimates cost, time, and materials for electrical projects.
  • Oversees and coordinates electrical projects.
  • Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
  • Supports company vision and mission.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists lease operators as needed.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years minimum experience required in electrical maintenance. Oil and gas field experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of high voltage electricity, generator systems, switch gear, and safety training.
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in electrical repair and maintenance work.
  • Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
  • Ability to follow proper methods, procedures and safety precautions of line work.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
  • Ability to work a 14/14 (14 days on hitch/ 14 days off hitch) 12hr work schedule.

Education Requirements:

  • Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a high school education with course work in skilled crafts, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

  • Required: State Journeyman Electrical Certification
