Primary Function of Organizational Unit	Increase the awareness and appeal of material science careers by highlighting the central role of the discipline in the 21st century.
Primary Purpose of Position	To recruit and train students well equipped to address future challenges in this emerging field and to help students acquire the STEM-specific oral and written communications skills, professional ethics, and networking skills required for success in doctoral programs or industrial employment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Must have required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in the following areas of research: research on 2D materials for chemical sensing, catalysis, and photonic applications. The applicant must be a strong team player with excellent presentation and writing skills. Prior experience is highly desirable.
Minimum Education/Experience	Ph. D. in chemistry, physics, materials science, or other relevant disciplines
