The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Coordinator, Student Life will serve as front-line staff coordinating day-to-day operations for the office of Student Life, and will work to successfully execute the Office's support services, events and programs, and activities. This role requires some evening and weekend responsibilities that require the individual to work autonomously.

Responsibilities



  • Manages front office operations and all student inquiries; supervises all student employees; manages office budgets and financial processes; additional projects and duties as needed or assigned
  • Plan and coordinate educational, recreational, social and cultural student activity programs that align with the institutional mission and office goals; supervise the preparation and dissemination of publications related to student clubs, activities, and affairs to students, staff and the community; create flyers, posters, literature and other materials prepared by student groups for on and off-campus distribution
  • Oversee office purchasing and inventory, purchasing needs for student clubs and organizations; maintain student activities budget and monitor student club budgets; approve and process invoices for budget expenditures; maintain program tracking databases and files for student activities; collect data for program evaluation, measurement and verification activities; prepare data for statistical, financial, participant and program activity reports; ensure operational efficiency through complex calendar management; manage the school-wide calendar; oversee data management and perform assessments to ensure best practices
  • Maintain regular contact with student leaders to develop responsible decision-making, assess student interests, respond to student needs and anticipate student programming/leadership issues; support student government and student clubs in planning and organizing campus activities; develop and monitor student club budgets as well as review and approve club activity requests; supervise student organizations and provide training and experiences which help develop leadership skills and abilities in students; maintain current and accurate records of website information for student organizations, club officers and other student leaders
  • Coordinate major events and programs, student activities, student clubs and leadership within the Student Affairs division; including but not limited to: orientations, workshops, program-wide social events and Commencement/Class Day and special projects; participate as an active member of the Student Life team; attend meetings, retreats and trainings, and provide support to major department-wide programs; assist with logistics in relation to the production of events and projects
  • Serve frequently as a Student Affairs liaison to the University offices including: University Registrar, Student Financial Services, International Students and Scholars Office, University Health Services, and Counseling and Psychological Services; may serve as a resource to assist residence hall staff in the development and management of social, recreational and educational programs as well as program operations


Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or requested

Minimum Qualifications



  • 3 years related experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred

Preferred Qualifications



  • Strongly preferred: experience working with students in a student life/activities capacity
  • Proven ability to plan and successfully execute events
  • Evidence of ability to manage multiple competing priorities


Other Requirements



  • Must be detail orientated, self-motivated, and able to work independently, and carefully manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with short deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required
  • Ability to work well under pressure with short deadlines and changing priorities is needed
