Medica's Public Relations Consultant develops and implements public relations strategies that promote our mission, enhance stakeholder engagement, and support organizational objectives. This role requires a dynamic and strategic thinker who can effectively manage public relations, ensure strong relationships with media outlets and support crisis communication efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and editing skills, a creative mindset, critical thinking skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement cohesive PR and media relations strategies that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Identify key messages and communication priorities to support organizational initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and executive leadership, to ensure cohesive communication efforts


Measurement and Analysis:



  • Analyze media coverage and public sentiment to refine strategies and demonstrate the ROI of PR efforts


Crisis Management:



  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues and protect the organization's reputation
  • Act as a key member of the crisis communications team, providing timely and transparent communication during crises


Content Creation and Storytelling:



  • Create compelling content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, and blog posts
  • Identify and promote stories that highlight the organization's achievements, initiatives, and thought leadership


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role


Specific types of experience or skills required



  • Proven track record of successful PR campaigns, media relations, and crisis communication
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, think critically, and problem solve
  • Ability to execute, meet and report deadlines

This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to Minnetonka or Madison office for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.

The full salary range for this position is $75,300 -$129,000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
