Responsibilities

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants

Position Summary: The IT Security Manager serves as the Facility IT Security Officer. Develops and implements information security policies, procedures, and guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Duties include assessing the PIW's security posture, identifying vulnerabilities and potential threats, developing strategies to mitigate those risks, managing security incidents, conducting security awareness training, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to foster a culture of security. Also maintains the hospital security surveillance cameras and serves as the point of contact for telephone support service.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • At least three (3) years of hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Fluent with hardware assembly, troubleshooting and upgrades
  • Experience installing, updating, and repair hardware/software.
  • Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • Experience with firewalls and antivirus software

IT Security Management

  • Serves as the local Security Officer.
  • Administers Corporate information security policies and procedures.
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the organization's information assets. Analyzes security gaps and develops strategies to mitigate risks including conducting security audits plans.
  • Manages security incidents, coordinates with technical teams, conducts investigations, contains and mitigates the impact of incidents.
  • Oversees facility security awareness and training.

Technical Support and Training

  • Works closely with the managers, corporate IT staff, and hospital leadership in strategically planning future growth, budgeting for IT and security requirements, and achieving organizational goals.
  • Works with department heads to identify hardware/software needs and schedules installs.
  • Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specific specifications.
  • Load appropriate software packages such as operating systems and network systems.
  • Troubleshoots day-to-day problems with software and hardware and make any necessary repairs in a timely manner.
  • Provides day-to-day technical support for hospital personnel with computers, printers, video surveillance, security systems, copy machines, equipment, and telephone system.
  • Designs, documents, tests, creates, or modifies computer programs related to machine operating systems.
  • Maintains hospital telephone system.
  • Maintain software/hardware inventories.
  • Document all PC systems and software.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance of employee ID badging systems and related software components.

Cerner System

  • Serves as Cerner trainer and trains new hires on system functionality.
  • Manages system upkeep
