Position Summary:

The Facilities Manager is multi-faceted position requires a person to fill several roles and manage multiple concurrent tasks. In this position you may be called during non-working hours if an emergency arises with the facility and may be contacted by local fire and police departments.

The scope of the position includes shipping and receiving and ensuring Epicor and Accounts Payable are updated as required, support the test cells by managing and documenting the workflow of materials through the lab, performing routine maintenance of facility equipment and first level diagnosis of facility equipment failures, coordinating with outside vendors for regular scheduled maintenance of the facility and for equipment repair, communicating with state and local officials for required inspections and keep detailed logs, event planning and cooking for department special events.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Building/Lab/Grounds maintenance and coordinating with building owner and representatives
  • Coordination of maintenance services with outside service vendors
  • Work with State and Local authorities for required inspections pertaining to environmental and safety compliance
  • Ensure all detailed facility records are maintained and preserved, especially those required for state and local permits
  • Coordinate required testing of fire systems
  • Perform basic maintenance of the facility including plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical
  • Basic maintenance and first-level diagnostics for lab equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, belts, and water treatment system
  • Internal and external parts ordering and track orders in Epicor and ensure all needed documentation is submitted to Accounts Payable
  • Safety coordinator/trainer/evaluator
  • Write and keep up to date site-specific safety policies, procedures, maintenance schedules and documentation
  • Maintain OSHA-required documents (i.e., SDS, Training documents, injury reports, etc.)
  • Train and keep employees up to date on current OSHA and EPA policies
  • Train employees to handle emergency situations (i.e. health, fire, property damage)
  • Forklift trainer/ evaluator
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating of outside contractors
  • Stormwater operator
  • Write and maintain a comprehensive Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
  • Identify hazardous chemicals and waste: use, storage, and/or removal requirements
  • Maintain RCRA documentation and compliance
  • Prepare and Sign DOT Hazmat waste Transport documents
  • Plan and cook for company in-house BBQ lunches on occasion
  • Coordination and ordering of building supplies
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications

Requirements:



  • 3 years, minimum, applicable experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Proficient with basic computer skills
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds

  • RCRA Hazardous Materials Training updated yearly
  • DOT Hazardous Materials Training updated yearly
  • Forklift Trainer Certification updated every 3 years
  • Stormwater Operators Certification updated every 5 years
  • Low Voltage Arc Flash Training updated every 2 years
  • CPR/AED/First aid updated every 2 years
