Description:
Participates in research involving modern biological techniques to investigate SALL4 function in normal and cancer cells. Conducts basic experiments such as PCR, qRT-PCR, immunohistostaining and duties in accordance with established guidelines. Experiments involve substantial "hands on" work. Analyzes, transcribes and records data using statistics and computational biology platforms. Performs literature searches and coordinates supply ordering for the lab. 1. Under general supervision performs routine and non-routine biological experiments. Experimental techniques may include: RNA, protein extractions; gel electrophoresis; blotting and hybridization techniques; cell fixation and basic immunohistochemistry; and cell transfection/infection. 2. Cell culture techniques, potentially including isolation of primary cell cultures from animal and human tissues. 3. Preparation of laboratory reagents and apparatus. 4. Records, organizes and analyzes data derived from experiments. Presents data to fellow lab members, manager, and principal investigator in a regular and timely fashion. Assists in preparing presentations and written articles for publication. 5. Process data derived from transcriptional profiling and genomics technologies. Description
