Your Role With Us:

Unit and Location: 4th floor, Building A East

Specialty Certification required: BLS (optional: ACLS, CCRN, PCCN, CNRN, NIHSS)

Number of Beds and Number of Treatment Areas: 30 private beds-15 dedicated to Intensive Care and 15 Intermediate level of care.

Scope of Service: TCU is a BRAND NEW unit at Salem Health, which opened in July 2022 in our new 150-bed tower. TCU is a 30 bed Intermediate Medical & Surgical Telemetry level of care unit that serves patients who suffer from a wide variety of medical conditions with a plan to become a Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU/IMCU unit within the next few years.

Salem Health's "Care in Place" model, provides nurses with the opportunity to treat patients throughout the continuum of their stay. Patients will remain on TCU to promote continuity of care and allow nurses to see the reward of patient healing. With a strong team culture, opportunities exist for nurses to obtain skills working with a variety of diagnoses and form relationships with patients who remain in one unit from admission to discharge.

Professional growth opportunities include preceptor/mentor, Charge RN and Resource RN.

Unit-Based Resources: Charge RN, Resource RN, Rapid Response & Code Blue Teams, CNAs and Unit Clerk.

    Background/Expertise:

    • Requires BSN or non-nursing Bachelor's Degree with MSN. Bachelor of Arts in nursing also accepted. Candidates with an Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) with less than 5 years of experienced required to sign agreement to complete BSN or MSN within 3 years of hire.
      • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required.
      • Unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon required one week prior to hire date.
      • BLS required.
