Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is seeking a Business Systems Analyst. Your Responsibilities:
- Advance understanding of multiple process for which they support and high-level understanding of processes outside of your primary area of focus.
- Understands cross-functional data needs and impacts on process changes or decisions.
- Able to train others on multiple processes.
- Recommends ways to streamline and improve business capabilities.
- Strategic/visionary roadmap for primary area of focus.
- Is influential beyond primary area of focus. Builds relationships across the company. Models positive work habits. Engages team members to influence cross-functional change. Others seek out as a key resource. Monitors process, progress and results of team. Holds other teams accountable.
- Strong role model, coaching and mentoring other performers on any track.
- Convey their opinions and recommendations persuasively.
- Leverages BA industry best practices actively engages in BA self-learning and is sought out by business users.
- Defines and drives improvements/maturity/tooling for the BA competencies at Taylor. Engages in industry groups to understand changing landscapes and best practices.
- Business Process Modeling (process flow integrity, data integrity and solution integrity) to deliver strategic business outcomes.
- Outside research and analysis to ensure best practice are being followed and best solutions are being recommended.
- Being able to find the 'business need' in the users story, navigate through the conversation to obtain requirements.
- Work closely with the technical team to ensure architectural alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
- Recommend and drive standardization across the enterprise.
You Must Have:
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and business partners at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to succeed and grow into a report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role
- Familiarity with relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills
- Effective project management skills, ensuring adherence to client timelines and business needs; prioritization of efforts across clients
- Excel skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Excellent writing, listening, and client-facing communication skills, including interacting at a director-level or higher; ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences
We would also prefer:
- Knowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data
- Experience building reports and dashboards in self-service reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Birst, etc.)
- BS/BA degree in a related field
