MATERIAL HANDLER
Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth. Summary: Power Solutions International participates in E-Verify. This role is reporting to our office in Darien, WI. We are currently not offering Sponsorship or Relocation Assistance for this role. Performs general warehouse work including loading and unloading of trucks and moment of material within the warehouse or production facility. Work includes receiving, storing, and moving materials to the production area as well as preparing orders for shipment. Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming inventory and equipment for quality before storing or rerouting.
- Use moving equipment including forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks to move inventory safely and efficiently around the warehouse and production facility.
- Identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise and notify supervisor immediately.
- Transports materials to shipping bay, prepares and loads for safe shipment.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Completes appropriate inventory records.
- Safely operate forklifts and other power vehicles in accordance with safety regulations such as those administered by OSHA.
- Perform inventory control responsibilities and cycle counts when required.
- Ensure that power vehicles are in proper working order by conducting required pre-trip inspections.
- Performs other duties as required.
Shift/Schedule:
- Hours are Monday-Friday from 5 AM- 3:30 PM.
- Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as required
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience in sit-down, stand-up reach and/or turret truck. Crane experience a plus.
- 1 year RF Scanner experience
- 1 year experience working with an ERP system such as SAP
- Basic computer skills are required; must be able to input data into spreadsheets and be comfortable working with Word and Excel documents.
- Ability to work in various climates such as hot, cold, and rain.
- Must possess the ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Must be able to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on one situations.
- Must possess the ability to add and subtract.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- May spend most of the day in a sitting position driving a forklift.
- The employee is occasionally required to talk or listen.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
