The Lead AV Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems in various settings such as corporate offices, educational institutions, event venues, and more. This role requires the ability to lead a team, manage projects, and ensure the successful deployment of AV systems that meet client needs. The Lead AV Technician will also act as the point of contact for technical expertise during the execution of AV projects. Key Responsibilities: 1.Installation & Configuration: *Lead the installation, setup, and configuration of audio-visual equipment including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron), video conferencing systems, and lighting. *Ensure all equipment is properly tested and configured according to client specifications. *Run cables, configure networked AV systems, and integrate various AV components. *Perform system commissioning and ensure all installations meet industry standards. 2.Team Leadership & Management: *Supervise and provide technical guidance to AV technicians and subcontractors. *Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure timelines are met. *Train junior technicians on installation techniques, troubleshooting methods, and new technologies. *Ensure proper documentation of installations, system settings, and service reports. 3.Project Coordination: *Collaborate with project managers, AV designers, and clients to ensure successful project execution. *Attend pre-installation meetings to assess client needs and plan system installations. *Coordinate logistics for AV installations. *Ensure all installations adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies. 4.Maintenance & Troubleshooting: *Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed AV systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. *Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on AV equipment. *Respond to service calls and perform onsite diagnostics and repairs. *Assist with firmware upgrades and system updates as needed. 5.Client Relations & Support: *Act as the primary technical contact for clients during project installations and post installation support. *Provide technical demonstrations and user training to clients on how to operate AV systems. *Offer recommendations and technical solutions based on client feedback and usage requirements. *Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. 6.System Design & Consultation: *Assist in the planning of AV systems based on customer needs and space requirements. *Work closely with AV designers and engineers to offer practical input during the build phase. *Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements, room acoustics, and system placement. 7.Documentation & Reporting: *Maintain accurate records of AV system configurations, equipment inventory, and service reports. *Document any system modifications or upgrades performed during service calls or installations. *Provide regular updates and reports to the AV Director / AV Engineering Manager or Project Manager regarding project status and technical issues. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Qualifications: *Proven experience as an AV technician, with at least 3-5 years in a lead or supervisory role. *Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, control systems, and networking. *Familiarity with AV brands and platforms such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, Shure, QSC, Polycom, etc. *Hands-on experience with cabling, wiring, and system integration. *Ability to read and interpret AV design schematics and blueprints. *Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
