Position Highlights

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the management, supervision and evaluation of outreach related programs and services. This includes student special events, Student Affairs partnership programs, and sponsorship opportunities. This position is highly interactive and works to achieve partnerships, collaborations and engagement. The position requires representation of the Department of Campus Recreation in a fair, consistent, cooperative and positive manner in accordance with Department and University policy. The position reports to the Associate Director of Outreach and Development.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Provides leadership for student special events, marketing events, alumni programming, Student Affairs partnership programs, and sponsorship opportunities.

* Plan individual special event offerings and activities intended to meet guidelines set by leadership staff for visibility, participation targets and financial parameters.

* Collaborates with the marketing staff to maximize event participation and other outreach initiatives.

* Coordinate and communicate with sponsors to achieve the highest levels of partnership and customer service.

* Supervises Outreach Student Coordinator, Assistant and Ambassador Program to generate maximum exposure of Campus Recreation facilities and programs.

* Staff supervision including hiring, training, scheduling, feedback, evaluations, payroll and disciplinary processes for ancillary, student and volunteer staff.

* Develop and maintain relationships with Campus Recreation, the University of Arizona and Tucson community as necessary to achieve department success, collaborations, and partnerships.

* Serve on committees and work teams such as OAC, Campus Partnerships, , ERG, and student employee recognition/special events.

* Assists the Associate Director of Outreach and Development in efforts to increase awareness and visibility of Campus Recreation at orientations, recruitment events, and other divisional requests.

* Use and maintain assessment tools to assess market needs and interests, participant satisfaction and overall event feedback. Report on results, including strategies for process improvement.

* Assist with annual budget process. Provide financial supervision necessary to achieve budget targets, carrying out best practices in financial stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

* Experience with special events and/or engagement program planning and implementation.

* Experience with collaborative programming and the ability to form positive relationships.

* Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

* Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with researching sponsorship proposals, contracting and activations
