Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Public Trust clearance.

The Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner will develop and maintain cybersecurity and privacy plans, strategies, and policies that align with organizational initiatives and regulatory compliance. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders to review, draft, and revise policies while ensuring they meet legal requirements and organizational goals. The role requires expertise in cybersecurity laws, statutes, and frameworks, with a focus on delivering actionable policy guidance and fostering consensus across various teams.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner: $110,000 - $120,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner Responsibilities Include:



  • Review and assess existing and proposed policies in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Interpret and apply relevant laws, statutes, and regulations to ensure policy alignment.
  • Analyze and develop organizational cybersecurity and privacy policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess policy needs and design effective governance frameworks.
  • Draft, publish, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity and privacy policies.
  • Seek stakeholder consensus on policy changes and updates.
  • Provide policy guidance to cybersecurity management, staff, and users.
  • Integrate current and future mission environments into policy development.
  • Monitor and enforce the application of cybersecurity and privacy principles and practices.
  • Participate in audits of cybersecurity and privacy programs.
  • Advocate for adequate cybersecurity and privacy training resources.
  • Ensure workforce policies comply with legal and organizational diversity and equal opportunity requirements.
  • Promote awareness of cybersecurity and privacy policies within the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve on security and privacy policy boards.
  • Review and assess cybersecurity and privacy workforce effectiveness to ensure proper skill sets.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience/certifications).
  • 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, with 3+ years focused on policy development.
  • Proven experience drafting, editing, and publishing cybersecurity and privacy policies.
  • Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and risk management processes.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, privacy laws, and security protocols.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience identifying policy gaps and improving implementation processes.
  • Previous experience with Cloud technologies and PII data security standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in cybersecurity audits, policy planning, and process improvement.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
