The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $88,300.00 - $132,400.00

Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs month-end closing duties to include variance analysis, account reconciliations, journal entries, and results reporting. Understands and adheres to internal controls
  • Tracks and investigates financial trends and events.
  • Ensures accurate and timely forecasting of enrollment, P&L, and other components.
  • Provides relevant monthly variance analysis and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Develops financial business cases (ROI, breakeven, projections modeling, etc.) for proposed programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Monitors KPIs for assigned organizations, makes recommendations, and assists organization leaders to make timely and appropriate business decisions.
  • Designs, develops, distributes, and monitors KPIs for assigned organizations.
  • Assists with the preparation and submission of industry reports.
  • Helps to design, implement, and maintain better financial analysis, reporting, and inquiry tools.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise using Excel and other financial reporting applications
  • Strong data analysis/automation skills utilizing advanced tools such as Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL, and ERP systems (i.e., Hyperion, Cognos, TM1, Essbase, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the best financial analysis practices, tools, and techniques
  • Analytical and quantitative skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of different economic models
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Oral and written communication skills in working with senior organization leaders.
  • Flexibility, ability to work with ambiguity and manage change.
  • Intellectual curiosity

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience in financial analytics

Position & Application Details
