JOB OVERVIEW: Represent HSI and its subsidiaries in a broad array of Labor and Employment legal matters. Provide high-quality, responsible, and efficient legal advice and counsel to the Company's respective business units. Identify, analyze, and assist in developing legal solutions for many diverse and complex business and legal issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE: Mid-level professional with expert knowledge of Labor and Employment law. Expected to operate autonomously within area of expertise. Assignments are self-initiated, broad in nature and require excellent judgment and advanced analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity to solve. Ability to resolve a wide range of highly complex issues and assignments in efficient and effective ways. Fully accountable for work product and managing clients' matters and expectations. Serve as a resource to business TSMs in multiple divisions to resolve complex problems and issues. Serve as a resource and mentor to junior attorneys and other members of the team. Role includes creation and ownership of processes. Plays lead role in high-level projects. Exposure to senior management and may have exposure to Board of Directors. Barriers to entry may exist at this level. COMPLEXITY: Work on significant and complex issues where analysis of situations and legal factors requires a complicated, in-depth review. Exercise complete independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Proactively identify, define and solve complex problems or to otherwise improve the business. Network with key senior internal and external personnel inside and outside own area of expertise; create formal networks involving coordination among groups. Lead cross divisional projects. SUPERVISION: Determine methods and procedures on complex, new or special assignments and work independently. Work reviewed through consultation and agreement with others rather than formal review from superior. Operate with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. May act as a resource to formally train and mentor TSMs with less experience. Assignments are broad in nature. Responsible for internal client relationships and outside counsel relationships and budget. WORK EXPERIENCE: This position requires a minimum of 7+ years of law firm or in-house experience post bar admission PREFERRED EDUCATION: This position requires a Juris Doctor degree, and the candidate must be a member in good standing in the applicable state Bar. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations. TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required. The posted range for this position is $154,328 to $220,882 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
