Duties: Leverage experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, product data management (PDM) systems such as SAP and ECTR, optomechanical design, design for thermal stability, and mechanical system design to develop precision mechanical designs for semiconductor equipment products. Use SolidWorks to create drawings and models for parts and assemblies. Break down and critically analyzing complex problems. Compile requirements, analyze concepts, conceive designs, and build test prototypes. Prepare and deliver design reviews. Complete bill of materials. Execute engineering change orders to release assemblies. Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to perform stress and thermal analysis when needed. Collaborate with electrical, optical, and software engineers to integrate subsystems into designs. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience in designing mechanical systems and using SolidWorks for modeling and creating details and assembly drawings. Specific skills/other requirements - Demonstrated Expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) designing components with particle and cleanliness standards for semiconductor equipment; (DE) in machine design for tooling to build and test semiconductor equipment; (DE) in using CAD tools-SolidWorks--for design, drafting, and Finite Element Analysis; (DE) in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; and (DE) in using PDM systems, including SAP, for releasing documents in the ECN/ECO process.
