YOU As the Regional Sales Manager - Component Manufacturing, you will be responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy in your region and are responsible for managing a sales team focused on supporting and growing Simpson's market share in the component manufacturer segment. There is also an expectation of working with every person on your team, in the field, at least once a quarter. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time) Mentor and develop the sales team representatives, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: interviewing, hiring, determining sales salaries and commissions, training, and establishing expectations and goals for territory sales representatives; planning, assigning, delegating and directing work; appraising performance by observing, monitoring and evaluating sales team member performance and progress; coaching, engaging, empowering, retaining, rewarding, and disciplining employees according to their unique interests, strengths and goals; cultivating a spirit of teamwork among members of the sales department and other departments; planning and execution of sales meetings; achieving sales goals, growing market share and improving profitability. While performing the supervisory responsibilities, the employee must represent the company in the utmost professional manner and in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws; especially when addressing complaints, resolving problems, and all other supervisory responsibilities. (60%) Develop and maintain positive relationships with management at key customers by regularly meeting with customers to conduct business review and development planning while focusing on promoting Simpson products and services and prospecting for additional product development ideas to service the customer and market. (15%) Perform and review sales analyses at customer and regional levels to identify trends and needs, gauge performance, and recognize potential opportunities as well as create and implement plans to best achieve the desired results. Establish and monitor budgets and expenses. Keep up to date with industry and market segment trends and news. Collaborate with other Regional Sales Managers to develop consistent programs and processes and continuously review to improve them. Implement and improve pricing and profitability, approve customer A/P, freight terms, and rebates. (15%) Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, the creation and coordination of projects and promotions with other departments, branches, and market segments. Manage sales forecast of products throughout their product life cycle. Create incentive plans to grow all product lines. Represent the company at tradeshows and other industry events. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times. TRAVEL This position requires approximately 50% domestic travel. WORK STATUS & LOCATION This full-time, exempt position is located in the Northwest Region of the Unites States. RELOCATION Relocation may be considered for this position.
