The Role

Mission:

Work with the Accounting Manager & Business Control Teams to Review and Update all Internal Controls

Power Technique North America (a company within the Atlas Copco Group) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to join our team during Summer, 2024 as a full-time, PAID intern.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Finance and Business Control/Accounting intern will focus on one main projects during the 10-week internship program:

  • The project will include a review of all internal controls and ensuring that the process and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • The intern will perform a pre-audit to determine where gaps in internal controls exist and develop a comprehensive report including these gaps.
  • The intern will be responsible for providing recommendations and a plan for remediating and gaps in the internal control landscape.
  • Finally, implementation of the remediation plan.

What we expect of you?

Education:

  • Applicants must be a rising junior or senior undergraduate level student, or master's level student enrolledon a full-time basis in an accredited college or university.
  • Applicants must be majoring in Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • Applicants must be able to provide their own housing in the Rock Hill, SC area for the 10 weeks of the program.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Applicants must be available to work 40 hours per week for the 10 weeks of the Summer Internship program - starting on June 2ndand continuing until August 8th.

Experience:

  • Experience gained through a previous relevant internship is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience related to accounting and/or financial management.
  • Experience with Excel and/or SAP is a plus.

Skills:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college, university or technical/vocational institution.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company assistance.
  • Majoring in an area of study related to the position.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Possess strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, be well-organized and show initiative.
  • Have a strong understanding of MS Word & Excel.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities.
