PurposeWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual-focused Research Scientist Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, experience working and coordinating with community organizations, experience with projects in the built environment, programming, and digital communications, and strong writing and organizational skills. The candidate will be based at UT Austin and be affiliated with the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. The individual will have the opportunity to actively collaborate with different research groups in Austin, specifically with the UT-City Climate CoLab, the City of Austin, and community organizations within the city of Austin. Austin is a highly vibrant city and provides access to numerous activities beyond the research and academic experience through UT Austin. Under the supervision of Dr. Dev Niyogi, this position will focus on working on projects related to urban weather and climate and acting as a bridge in understanding the needs of various community groups the team works with, collaborating with the City of Austin, assisting in grant development and writing, working with coordination and needs within the department and TExUS Lab, and assist in planning and coordination within lab operations.
