Special Needs Trust Assistant Manager
Serve as a subject matter expert in the administration of Special Needs Trusts, Court Appointed Trusts, Settlement Preservation Trusts, Guardianships and Conservatorships, and Medicaid payback trusts.
Lead and oversee a team of approximately 5-7 SNT Trust Client Assistants and Administrators who support a team of 10 senior SNT Trust Advisors. Lead the development of approximately 2 -- 3 First Level Officer SNT Trust Advisors to gain important knowledge and skills applicable to the administration of SNTs and related accounts.
Responsible to administer a limited book of business to include approximately 20 SNT relationships.
Position Responsibilities:
Fiduciary Administration, Oversight & Governance


  • Administer a limited size book of assigned SNT accounts.
  • Provide strategic input to drive more efficient process execution for administration of TCA and Trust administrator duties, to maximize efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with colleagues, beneficiaries, clients, and partners, providing strategic advisory services and resolving complaints.
  • Mentor direct reports to act as trusted team members ensuring duties are conducted in a manner to foster beneficiary satisfaction through personalized service and to ensure robust Trust Officer support.
  • Establish expectations and metrics that ensure the highest quality, timeliness, and efficiency of core duties, client service and compliance with legal requirements.


Revenue and Growth -- Financial Performance and Sales


  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets to help support the broader specialty wealth and trust organization objectives.
  • Support SNS Unit Manager to collaborate with sales teams and partners to expand awareness of capabilities and grow revenue.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments and drive efforts to tailor / update service offerings as needed to keep team and offerings competitive.


Operational / Risk Responsibilities


  • Participate in reviews of SNT accounts to identify and mitigate risks and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Support enhancements to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies for estate settlements.
  • Guide the team in applying enterprise risk management frameworks to SNT accounts.


Leadership and Management


  • Support the recruiting, training, and mentoring of TCA's, Administrators and First Level Officers to ensure high performance, professional growth, and alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of direct reports.
  • Ensure team members are knowledgeable and conduct duties in accordance with policies and procedures, governing documents, and the law.
  • Support SNT Unit Manager to foster collaboration amongst senior Trust Advisors and TCA's, Administrators, and junior trust advisors, serving as a role model and subject matter expert.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 4 years of experience in Special Needs Administration
  • 2 years of experience in Leadership

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
