This employee oversees the operation of the Equipment Repair Department, ensuring compliance with operational policies and procedures in regard to all regulatory guidelines regarding repair of all medical equipment as authorized by manufacture or depot level of repair. The repair center is part of the regional repair model for warranty and non-warranty repairs of stationary concentrator units and other designated equipment.
* Manages the department's inventory and repair program
* Primary point of contact for Ventilator Program
* Manages all aspects of the accountability, issue, and shipment of rental equipment to meet branch requirements
* Responsible for managing Preventative Maintenance Program for Ventilators and Apnea Monitors to ensure 100% accountability and compliance with the Safe Medical Devices Act
* Orders and stocks repair parts and other Durable Medical Equipment as needed for ongoing equipment repairs and inventory control
* Works with vendors to coordinate warranty repair work and core rebuilds
* Reviews all invoices for Branch Sub-rental and Repair Department generated purchases prior to next level approval
* Oversees the Program as it pertains to the Regional Repair Center to include ordering of necessary repair components for owned equipment and coordinating all outgoing shipments to locations
* Establishes clear goals for all employees in the Regional Repair Center to maximize efficiency and demonstrate clear growth in productivity and repair output
* Institutes clear quality control measures to decrease number of preventable equipment failures in the field, and in so doing decrease concentrator returns and overall Cap Ex
* Directly Supervises the Centralized Travel & POC (Portable Oxygen Concentrator) Team as it pertains to inventory management and the clinical practices of the department to align with both company policy and contractual obligations with payors
