Position Description

The Operations Controller acts as a business partner to the North America Manufacturing Site management teams to help drive efficiency and effectiveness.

The Controller helps to further improve the system landscape in order to increase financial transparency as basis for decision making.

You will be responsible for the following areas:

Monthly and Quarterly Financial Closing
This duty involves financial closing activities: ensuring accurate work order settlement, accruals, and inventory reserves. Pre-close, validate financial data integrity to support accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Support the accounting team by providing insights and resolving inquiries, while assisting internal and external audits with financial data and compliance requirements.

Financial and Operational Reporting

Prepare and analyze monthly management reports including performance data regarding manufacturing output, cost waterfalls, cost center performance, inventory levels, and headcount metrics.

Cost monitoring and forecasting for manufacturing site in North America

Analyze key spending trends and forecast financial impacts with a focus on cost of sales, operating expenses, and headcount. Partner with site management to optimize resource allocation to drive site profitability improvements.

Product costing

Manage standard costing processes including product costing simulations for new materials. Oversee the annual standard cost update including recalculating activity hourly rates to ensure accurate cost structures and inventory valuation.

Annual resource planning for North America manufacturing sites.

Actively support and steer resource planning for the NA manufacturing sites. Support decision making on budget numbers and foster alignment between site and global goals. Planning scope includes the next fiscal year and the midterm 3-year horizon.


Position Requirements

- University degree in economics, accounting or business administration

- Proven knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software - SAP (preferred) + MS Office

- Strong analytical abilities and critical thinking is required as well as pro-active thinking

- Ability to effectively communicate in English both written and verbally is required.

- 5-10% travel requirement mostly on the US East Coast.
