Business Aligned Compliance Officer

As a talented and ambitious Compliance Officer, you will join our Risk Management Group in Houston as a member of a team responsible for the further development and implementation of the Compliance program for one of the leading commodities businesses in the Americas. You will be responsible for collaborating and providing advice across front office, risk, technology and operations teams to develop processes, systems, policies and controls to meet the compliance and regulatory requirements in the region.
While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require three or more days a week in our Houston office.

What role will you play?

Crude oil or refined product experience in a front office role or experience working for a state or federal regulator of such markets is strongly preferred. While this role will have a primary focus on physical crude oil / refined products activity, knowledge of futures exchange rules and requirements, CFTC rules, Dodd Frank regulations and transaction reporting to DTCC are desirable.

  • 7+ years of experience in one of the following areas:
  • Front office experience in the role of a physical crude oil or refined products trader, scheduler, or other operational/logistics role and related understanding of crude oil/refined products markets;
  • Experience working for a state or federal environmental regulator, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the California Air Resources Board, or the Washington State Department of Ecology;
  • Experience as a compliance officer providing compliance and regulatory advisory support to a physical crude oil / refined products marketing and trading business; and/or
  • Experience in a market risk or operational risk role in support of a crude oil / refined products gas trading desk.
