Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

PDW seeks a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team, contributing to the next wave of system and tool development for our upcoming product lines. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the expansion of the Mechanical Engineering team at PDW.

Core Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and delivers thoughtfully designed and highly adaptable systems.

• 3D CAD modeling, design reviews, simulation and analysis, design for manufacturing.
• Build and analyze prototypes for failure mode analysis and validation testing.
• Define and execute test plans.
• Create mechanical BOM's.
• Transition successful projects into production.

Requirements

• 7+ years of work experience in design, analysis, development of electromechanical equipment, components, assemblies, and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a technically related field.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and DFM for Injection Molding, Machining, Additive Manufacturing
• Experience in mechanical design review, design for manufacturing and testing.
• Ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards.
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
• Experience in FMECA.
• Experience in electronics product design.
• Strong success rate of receiving and interpreting design direction from creative partners.
• Strong interdisciplinary skills across other engineering departments.
