What You'll Be Doing:
The Commercial Leadership Program Intern is charged with leading landscape and competitive assessment initiatives across the different therapeutic categories that comprise our pipeline and portfolio. This internship role will require ongoing and clear communications of business plans, decisions, and progress across leadership teams with respect to deliverables, budgets, and timelines. Especially critical will be complete alignment with cross-functional leaders to ensure the development of aligned strategic planning.


  • Conduct category landscape and competitive assessments to help drive strategic planning amongst New Product Planning and R&D teams
  • Assist with business planning and project prioritization
  • Support development of strategic marketing messaging and scientific communication planning
  • Lead designated initiatives and project oversight to include logistical and financial implementation
  • Actively track action items, program plans, and communications
  • Engage with thought leaders through attendance of national conferences and field rides with an assigned sales employee
  • Quickly develop a keen understanding of the business issues, key stakeholders as well as external dynamics which inform priority setting and decision recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve and enhance the performance of the team; lead initiatives designed to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Foster a strong collaborative, open, and interactive culture
  • Assist with the development and preparation of important and confidential presentations for the Executive Leadership Team and the MannKind Board of Directors
  • Other duties as assigned


What You Bring to the Table:


  • Business or science bachelor's degree preferred; current enrollment as an MBA student
  • Prefer a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced international environment, preferably within the pharma or biotech industry
  • Strong business acumen and organizational agility - can confidently gain credibility quickly with leaders across all parts of the organization, including executive management
  • Thrives in diverse environments with high levels of ambiguity
  • Collaborative and builds strong professional relationships easily
  • Excellent organization, communication, research, and facilitation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to build trust and operate with integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrated learning agility


Bonus Points If You Have:


  • Prior experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech industries
  • Project management certification
  • You possess superior time management and organizational skills.
  • You have an intrinsic motivation to continually improve and optimize processes.
