Lipscomb Academy - Lower School Principal

Lipscomb Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and passionate leader to serve as the Lower School Principal for a premier Christian school in Nashville. Qualified candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and experience leading teachers and other educational professionals in an environment of academic excellence. Additionally, this candidate must support and advance Lipscomb Academy's mission of forming students spiritually in an intentionally Christ-centered community. One key aspect of this is providing a professional atmosphere where teachers are supported in their vocation of teaching and come to view their work as an extension of their own faith.

Candidates must have a strong work ethic and an unwavering desire to lead and grow teachers and students in the lower school. Typical Duties:

• Encourage faculty to make connections between their work and Christian vocation and purpose.
• Create a welcoming climate and culture.
• Create a culture based on respect, growth, and professionalism.
• Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the school.
• Respond to concerns from students, teachers, and families.
• Advocate to the upper administration for what is in the best interest of students, staff, and the school.
• Provide strategic direction to teachers as they carry out school-supported initiatives.
• Lead the evaluation and assessment of programs and faculty in the lower school by meeting with teachers to establish goals, observe, provide feedback, and create and carry out action plans with teachers at risk.
• Revise policies and procedures, manage the budget, hire and evaluate faculty/staff, and oversee facilities.
• Consistently implement policies and procedures and follow processes to comply with existing expectations and/or complying with mandated requirements.
• Encourage differentiated instruction for all students, create and support learning communities, and set high expectations for faculty and students.
• Model positive use of technology and behaviors of a lifelong learner to create an environment where staff and students are successful.
• Participate in admissions efforts by speaking to parents, arranging student shadow experiences, and proactively engaging with prospective parents and students. Reinforce grade-level standards, curriculum, and assessments.
• Manage school administrative functions, including facility maintenance (maintain a clean and attractive facility), budget, staffing, attend extracurricular activities such as arts and athletic events.
• Encourage parent involvement.
• Work collaboratively with SESL (Spiritual, Emotional, and Social Learning) faculty and staff to create classroom and student experiences that provide opportunities for students to grow spiritually.
• Work collaboratively with the SESL team to create opportunities for faculty spiritual growth.
