We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Personnel to join our team at a state-of-the-art pork processing plant. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant's equipment, systems, and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Safety First! You'll follow all company safety protocols, including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures, and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performance environment. Your skills and attention to detail will directly contribute to the success of the team and the plant as a whole!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Keep Things Running Smoothly: Perform preventive maintenance by lubricating parts, drive chains, and more to ensure machines are always in top shape. Swift Fixes: Replace belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves, keeping production moving without interruption. Hands-On Repairs: Tackle machine breakdowns by fixing guards, replacing bolts, motors, and conveyor belt tracks, and handling wear-and-tear issues efficiently.

  • Facility & Grounds Maintenance: Maintain a Top-Notch Facility: Keep buildings and grounds in pristine condition, ensuring the plant stays fully functional and productive at all times. Make It Shine: Perform interior and exterior painting to keep the plant looking its best. Beautify the Outdoors: Mow, trim, edge, fertilize, and maintain landscaped areas, while caring for trees, plants, and shrubs through weeding, pruning, and spraying. Winter-Ready: Handle snow removal and salting of facilities and pathways to keep the plant accessible in any season.

  • Safety & Compliance: Safety First: Inspect assigned areas for hazards, and take action to correct or report any safety concerns to ensure a safe working environment. Safety Focused: Follow safe work methods, use safety gear, secure work areas, and actively participate in safety meetings to keep yourself and the team safe.

  • Support & Logistics: Flexible Support: Step in as a substitute custodian when needed, making sure the plant is always clean and ready for business. Vendor Relations: Work with outside vendors on contracts, including custodial services, to ensure smooth operations.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1+ years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment; or 4 years' direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.

  • Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school. (Preferred).

  • Function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.

  • Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to read and execute work order, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.
