Public Health Analyst - Make an Impact!

About the Role:
Join the Jackson County Health Department as a Public Health Analyst! You'll dive into data, analyze health trends, and help shape public health programs. If you're passionate about using data to solve real health challenges, we want you on our team!

What You'll Do:

  • Work with the team to update the Community Health Assessment (CHA) each year.

  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders.

  • Help with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) accreditation process.

  • Respond to data requests, create reports, and tell the story with engaging visuals.

  • Track and monitor health outcomes to improve health efforts and reduce disparities.

  • Contribute to the development of health initiatives and research evidence-based programs.

  • Assist with grant submissions and review documents for accuracy.

  • Keep your knowledge fresh with ongoing training and professional development.

  • Participate in strategic planning and be ready to help during a public health emergency.

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of epidemiology, public health, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience working with data analysis software like SAS, SPSS, R, or similar.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and summarize data effectively.

  • A solid understanding of public health principles and community health improvement.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Willingness to attend off-site meetings and maintain a valid driver's license.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with GIS (Geographical Information Systems).

  • Ability to interpret professional journals, regulations, and technical procedures.

  • 1-2 years of experience in epidemiology is a plus!
