This role is responsible for mixing chemical batches according to standard formulas, applicable instructions, and current standard operating procedures.

What You Will Do:

  • Review daily mix schedules and ensure the raw materials required are available
  • Follow mix instructions and accurately add raw materials to the mixes manually, using pumps or mixing systems
  • Mix batches using variable agitation
  • Perform routine observation of product during the mixing and filling process to ensure batch quality. Report any out-of-spec raw material, premixes or mixed batches and consultswith Quality personnel on any batch adjustments.
  • Properly clean out all mix tanks
  • Operate fork trucks, palletizers, scales, pumps, and other material handling equipment to transport raw material and finished product
  • Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance
  • Load bulk trailers and operate a yard mule
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Details:

  • Plant location: Garyville, LA Plant
  • Work week and shift: Rotation 5am -5pm, 5pm -5am
  • Compensation package offered: $30.00ph with some OT

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year of previous experience working in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment
  • 1 year of experience using systems, pumps, read meters, basic Quality Control data, and tracking mixing and quality information (mix logs, batch adjustments, etc.)
  • 1 year of prior experience ofsimultaneously mixing several tanks andaccurately completing related documents
  • 1 year ofreading and matching numbers on shipping records, labels, raw materials, and finished goods
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Must be able to participate in respirator fitness, if required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
  • Must be able to wear a slicker suit and safety harness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

$30.00 Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
