Facility Construction Technician needed for a long-term contract opportunity with SOC's client to work in Indian Head, MD. Secret clearance preferred or able to obtain Responsibilities * Assist in the planning and execution of construction projects * Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards * Conduct material testing for strength, density, durability, etc., and ensure they meet project and industry standards * Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records * Document any deviations or changes relative to blueprints and building plans * Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other) * Inspect project sites and oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with building and safety codes * Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications * Provide "day-to-day operations support," such as coordinating access for construction contractors * Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project * Participate in project meetings to provide progress updates and report any issues Qualifications * At least five years of relevant experience * Demonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders * Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills * Experience with design-build, engineering-procurement-construction, and design-bid-build types of construction projects * Experience with vertical new construction, building renovation, and civil/site infrastructure construction projects * Experience with construction building codes and permitting processes * Expertise with at least one of the following, but preferably all: HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance Employment Pre-requisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, drug urinalysis, and verified compliance with Executive Order 14042, Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors.
