  • Youth & Family Support - We help youth gain independence through social and living support programs while empowering families with the skills and resources they need to become resilient and successful.
  • Foster Care & Adoption - We reunify and unite families while recruiting and providing support to foster parents and youth in foster care.
  • Education & Community Trainings - We help students achieve academic success while giving educators the tools to create safe learning environments to improve their students' behaviors and offer innovative learning opportunities to build and improve knowledge in the community.


We are seeking an Adolescent Substance Use Counselor to join our team. Your role will be to provide professional substance use services, including individual and group to adolescents and young adults in residential and community settings. As a member of the Clinical-Residential Services team, you will work with other team members and report to our Janna Cochran.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Complete appropriate assessments by collecting and evaluating information about the client's situation, identifying any substance use issues, and creating goals for the treatment plan as it relates to substance use.

* Comply with the Jackson County COMBAT grant and have a working knowledge of COMBAT policies and systems.

* Facilitate group counseling, group education, and individual sessions.

* Assist with drug screenings and documentation of results.

* Complete assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans.

* Document all progress notes within 72 hours.

* Provide essential reports to the treatment team.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience, a bachelor's or master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field (LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW preferred) or a bachelor's or master's degree in expressive therapy (AT, MT-BC, or CTRS).

REQUIREMENTS



  • At least 21 years of age and pass a background check, physical, and drug screening
  • A valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation
  • High level of verbal/written communication skills.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid and behavior management techniques.
  • Demonstrate awareness/understanding of the cultural and ethnic diversity of clients, staff, and other community partners.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience working in substance use or mental health with clients who have co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Child and adolescent experience.
  • Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma.
  • Possess or be eligible to apply for credential with Missouri Credentialing Board (MAADC II, CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, RADC-P, RADC, CCJP, and CCDP).


Starting Salary: $43,000- $53,000 (Annually)

Bonus: If applicable
