The Weitz Company is seeking an Engineering Project Manager III to be located out of our Minneapolis, MN office.

What You'll Do:



  • Lead customers and engineering project teams throughout the development and delivery of assigned projects
  • Establish engineering budgets and profitably manage all estimating, administrative and engineering activities related to assigned projects
  • Produce and manage engineering projects that are practical and economical high-quality designs in accordance with industrial and engineering department standards and construction estimates
  • Gain hands-on experience by participating in construction project operations to understand the full engineering project management process
  • Challenge the status quo by identifying alternative concepts, designs, cos or time saving measures to be reviewed alongside the Engineering Manager
  • Stay current with the latest industry technology and techniques
  • Participate in marketing Weitz engineering and construction services to potential clients
  • Coach, mentor, and manage staff members effectively; accomplish tasks through others
  • Manage third party engineering firms when necessary
  • Business travel will be required


What We're Looking For:

Education: An Associate's Degree is required; Industry related college degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience: A minimum of twelve (12) years' experience with engineering project management experience is required for this role. Experience in the food, agricultural, plant design or material handling and process systems industry is necessary. LEAN principles experience is desirable. OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.


Technology
: Must be proficient in basic computer software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Employee must have experience with coordination and complete modeling within Revit and AutoCAD, and have the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).


Skills
: A qualified candidate must demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, leadership, negotiation, relationship building, construction knowledge and business acumen. Employee must also effectively read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform job tasks. Effective communication, project management, judgment, initiative, time management, and attention to detail, flexibility, and organizational skills are necessary skills for this position.
