Position Description

The individual in this role will be responsible for performing various functions in compliance with company and government standards to support the Quality Assurance team in the Materials & Processes Laboratory.

Essential Functions

  • Owner of Special Processes including Brazing, Laser Weld and Xray.
  • Certified Customer Source Agent for Special Processes above.
  • Assure Nadcap Certification continuance for the Special Processes above.
  • Interprets Kearfott and customer drawings, military, Federal, and Industry specifications in order to: identify & evaluate materials; evaluate materials to extend shelf life, support Incoming Inspection, and test production lots.
  • Evaluates customer and industry standards with the purpose of updating Kearfott internal procedures.
  • Gathers, correlates, and analyzes technical information necessary to accomplish assigned tasks using ERPS system and internet resources.
  • Assists Quality Engineering with resolving nonconformances and RCCA including Sub-tier nonconformances.
  • Under minimal supervision, conducts tests and inspections IAW Kearfott and customer drawings as well as military, Federal, and Industry specifications to assure conformance to requirements.
  • Operates and/or participates with a team member to operate instruments and equipment in laboratory and /or production departments in support of above functions.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs and other documents using Microsoft Office software
  • Perform final and in-process inspection as required.
  • Performs any other tasks as directed by Management, as time permits, to satisfy company objectives.

Required Skills

  • Trained and Experienced in Brazing, Laser Weld and Xray (2+ years)
  • Must have solid communication skills, both written and verbal, across functional areas.
  • Skilled in Word, Excel and other software tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years related work experience required; 3-5 years preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.

This position is located at our Black Mountain NC facility. Relocation assistance is not available
