Engineering Technician needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Rochester, NY. Contract Length: 6+ Months, possible conversion to FTE Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced manufacturing technician to join the precision structures fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have a background in composite materials and the ability to work within tight tolerance specifications. The role emphasizes the timely execution of assigned tasks with a focus on quality. Responsibilities include working both independently and as part of a team to fabricate, build, handle, repair, and integrate complex, unique composite parts and assemblies in a low-volume setting. This position involves direct collaboration with engineers on the design, development, and fabrication of new and existing products. Requires use of overhead cranes, equipment and rigging best practices. Verify quality of product in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Essential Functions: * Experience with composite materials. * Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment. * Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions. * Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation. * Work with very fragile and precise assemblies. * Assist with identifying problems and suggest solutions. * Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices. * Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment. * Proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.) Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related experience. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. * Ability to work overtime/weekends/shifts as needed. * Ability to stand, walk, and move around for long periods.
